23rd BMMC Congress Full Article

1. The 23rd Congress of Blakan Military Medical Committee (BMMC) will be held between 11th and 14th May 2018 in Antalya, Turkey.

2. The main topic of the congress is: “Battlefield Medical Support”. The subjects are: Mass Casualties and Disaster Medicine, Aerospace Medicine, Sea, Undersea and Diving Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Basic Sciences.

3. The participation of Officers from Health Services of Armed Forces and students of Military Schools requires at least one oral scientific presentation. The official language of the congress is English. 

4. Officers (military doctors, dentists, veterinarians, pharmacists, nurses, psycologists) wishing to attend are requested to submit their abstracts on the official website of “Interconnection of Military Hospitals (IMIHO)” (Submit abstract to BMMC and select the appropriate national flag). Abstract submission requires registration to receive a password for login.

5. The abstract should meet the following:

  • Font: Arial 12.
  • Maximum number of words: 250 (not including title, authors and institution).
  • Title of abstract: in capital letters.
  • Rank for all authors (first the rank following by the name).
  • Surname in capital letters and small name with small.
  • Underline and bold font of presentors' name.
  • Abstract structure as Annex A.

6. According to BMMC MoU, one oral and one poster presentation from each country will be nominated for the “Best Military Medical Paper Award” and “Best Military Medical Poster Award”, respectively. The Scientific Committee will decide for the awards, based on the following criteria: military relevance, applicability, originality, methodology and presentation.

7. During the scientific program, two round tables will be organized with the following topics: a. Approach to multi trauma casualties. b. CBRN threats in our region and current medical approaches.

8. Each participant will be required to pay 50 € for registration fee. The Congress venue will be the “Adalya Elite Lara” Hotel, both in terms of accommodation and scientific activities. Accomodation will be 50 € per person per night in a double room and 94 € per person per night in a single room, on a standard all-inclusive basis (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
